Alexandra R. Scherk, OD, FAAO, DiplABO was born and raised in Syosset, New York. Her undergraduate degree was earned at Pennsylvania State University where she majored in General Science. Dr. Scherk received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the highly ranked New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA, where she was awarded membership in the prestigious Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honors Society.
Dr. Scherk is both a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry. She is also a member of the American Optometric Association. Dr. Scherk completed a rigorous Ocular Disease/Primary Care Optometry residency at the prestigious BronxCare Health System. Her previous clinical training was completed at Northport Veterans Affairs Hospital, Martha Eliot Health Center at Boston Children’s Hospital, EyeCare Associates of Connecticut, and Newington Veterans Affairs Hospital.
A native New Yorker, she specializes in a full scope of eye care services, including comprehensive eye exams, treatment and management of ocular diseases, ocular surface (“dry eye”) disease, contact lens fittings, and pre-and-post-operative care.
