B. David Gorman, MD, FACS graduated from New York University Medical School followed by a residency in Medicine and then Ophthalmology at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. He completed two fellowships: 1) Corneal Disease and Corneal Transplantation at the Cornea-Plastic Unit in East Grinstead, England and 2) Cataract Surgery with Dr. Manus Kraff in Chicago, Ill. He returned to New York to work with Dr. Robert Coles and then opened his own practice, in Manhattan in 1986. Dr. Gorman specializes in Cataract and Anterior Segment Surgery.
As a member of VOSH-NY and Surgical Eye Expeditions, Dr. Gorman has donated his time to participate in numerous cataract surgical missions to Peru, Mexico and the Philippines. He has authored articles and book chapters in various peer reviewed publications as well as lectured to professional audiences on cataract surgery and related subjects.
He is married to Sandy Gorman, an artist and has two daughters, Deborah, who is a chef in Los Angeles and Candice who is an artist and massage therapist in New York City. Dr. Gorman is active at Temple Shaaray Telfila in New York City.
Dr. Gorman is a member of several medical organizations including being a Board Certified Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, an Overseas Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery as well as the New York County and State Medical Societies. He is also Associate Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the Columbia Presbyterian Medical School.
